[TR] State of the Pups

Me: I've been kind of in a funk, RL and internet-wise, though I've been trying to keep up with tags. I've got a handful of tags here on DW that I'm planning on returning tonight, and a few threads from Snape's EP on LJ that are still continuing. I know I say this every year, but I'd really like to get better about more promptly returning tags, so I don't let them pile up and then get overwhelmed because there are so many of them. tl;dr I suck
Current: Ambivalent about the whole winter-Victorian-y thing, though he will not complain about all of the pretty dresses that Karen's had to wear lately. He has probably been less than pleased with the transformation of the lab and will be glad to have it back in its proper state.
melly and I are currently threading out a NYE thread for Nick and Karen, where he finally mans up and makes an honest woman out of her. Spoiler alert: It's probably going to be adorable.
NDPD: Still leaning towards a CSI-type field kit, even though there aren't many crimes to investigate on the island.
Future: I (literally just now) was thinking about maybe getting him involved with the island school, teaching some sort of Forensics 101 kind of class? I think he'd be an excellent teacher, and it could have all sorts of fun field trips and hands-on sorts of activities. I just have to figure out the island school and whether or not one can suggest classes to be added to it. If not, I'd love for him to have someone to mentor/show the ropes to.
I also need to get him more involved with the IPD and whatever happens whenever bodies pop up on the island. I know it happens every so often and while it makes sense that no one launches full investigations whenever items-that-are-bodies show up, but still. It's mostly been a limitation of my own lack of time and not really being around very often to shoehorn him in to plots where he would have something to do.
Current: Despite the snow, he is having a blast in Ye Olde Victorian London, and will be incredibly sad to see it go. He's not doing much other than moping about and snarking at people, although that's pretty much his default MO in life.
NDPD: If I go the Cracktastic Hilarious route, it will be Kat's suggestion of a baby fawn that he has to take care of, because that shit is funny yo. If I go the more serious, useful route, it would be a set of robes/wizardy clothes. Perhaps made of something other than wool so that he doesn't die of heatstroke.
Future: I would like him to meet more people who challenge his preconceived notions about Muggles/people on the island. He's not the type who will make friends easily, at least not yet, but I'd love for him to have more people with whom he has a sort of awkward friendship or at least, a we-don't-hate-each-other-totally-ship with.
I think I may enroll him in a few science-oriented classes for the next session of Island School, so he can sit there and be a dick to everyone over things that he doesn't necessarily know. He will be displeased to have to learn Muggle things, but I think he likes knowledge too much to entirely discount it.

Annnnnnd, once things calm a bit, I'll be letting you know about Homeplot, too.
