(look, CSI gifs are kind of unilaterally atrocious. I'm just going to keep using this one until I come across another. I take it there will be no complaints.)
Current: Finally proposed to Karen! That's his big news, and he is pretty thrilled about it. I've got a couple of threads from January that I'm still working on for him, but things are mostly quiet otherwise.
Future: I realized he hasn't had an EP since early 2011, because I am AWFUL. I'm planning on an EP for him, probably some time mid-next week, having already received his NDPD gift. He's getting a forensics/CSI field kit kind of thing, so I figure that I'll post him looking at it. It'd be a good time for anyone who has an interest in learning about crime scene investigation to meet him! I'll probably do a bit of a canon rewatch before then, since it's been a while since I've caught up with what's going on back in the real Vegas.
Wedding planning, as much as one can plan a wedding on the island. I realized that he is sort of lacking in the male-BFFs-to-be-best-man department, so if anyone wants to step up now and volunteer to be his friend, I'd be grateful. I wouldn't want his wedding to go Best Man-less just because I had a long stretch of being a shitty roleplayer.
I have thoughts about putting him in Fearplot this year, because I'm a jerk, but I will need to think more about it/read more about how the plot is going to work. He's been so easy-going and content lately that I feel like I need to do something to disrupt his life. Because I'm a jerk.
Current: He has a deer, and he is super pissed off about it. I am loving - LOVING - all of these threads, because everyone is like "what do you have against this poor defenseless creature", and Snape is all, "it doesn't do anything!". (Feel free to assume that when he's outside, he's constantly shadowed by a baby deer.) Lupin is here, too, which gives Snape ~feelings~ of paranoia because it's only a matter of time until James Potter shows up and his life turns even more awful.
Future: Not too much that I can think of, offhand, other than waiting for the next term of island school to put him in classes. Meeting more people, being a dick to more people, etc. I don't think I'm going to EP him in February, since he's gotten one two months in a row now. He's just so easy to tag with, which has always been sort of terrifying. I'd like to start seeing him move towards tentative, awkward friendships with people, only in the half-assed, back-handed way that he could ever be friends with someone. I know there are homeplot plans out there, vaguely on the horizon, and I think next time I EP him (probably not until April) will be discovering the Whomping Willow.
UGH NEAL CAFFREY GET ON THIS ISLAND RIGHT NOW. I have never been so impatient in my LIFE to submit an app. S3 is over at the end of February, and I plan on submitting the app right away. It's mostly done now, save for the inventory and EP, although I'm having thoughts on radically rewriting the background section. I'm a bit wary of playing someone from an ongoing canon where subsequent seasons may drop huge bombshells -- it's not something I've ever had to worry about with CSI and Nick -- but the more I think about it, whatever we learn of Neal's background in S4 wouldn't change how I would play him, and he's so reluctant to talk about his past with anyone that it wouldn't be hard to avoid accidentally contradicting canon in-game. I have SO MANY PLANS for him, and Manda is going to app Peter and we might get an El in the future and I am just BESIDES MYSELF WITH JOY.
I also have vague hopes for apping George Mason from the Newsflesh trilogy, although that wouldn't be until June at the earliest, when the final book is released. I'd want to try her out in a few POTF memes, or get someone to thread with me privately, to make sure I have a good voice for her, though. I still really want to bring Brandon Sullivan, Michael Fassbender's character from Shame, and I think I could do some interesting things with him, but that depends on a) getting the movie on DVD to rewatch and b) if/when I would app George. Brandon probably wouldn't be apped until closer to the end of the year, and then that would be it for me, until/unless I drop anyone else. Five is definitely my limit for what I can handle competently. It is nice to be back to feeling excited about the game and wanting to have new pups and feeling like, mentally, I can handle the increased activity.
